Chiara Mu ha un debole per la relazione con l'ambiente, per la situazione, per le persone. L'intera sua opera si fonda su un rapporto dialogico: le sue installazioni performative, le performance relazionali e le installazioni ambientali nascono da una profonda condivisione del contesto, da una domanda di conoscenza rispetto alla particolare situazione su cui di volta in volta lavora. non di rado, l'artista instaura un rapporto di intimità con il pubblico, che diviene focus dell'opera, tassello che interagisce con lei e l'ambiente attraverso dispositivi di tipo performativo e installativo. da qui la necessità di eliminare la barriera che separa la zona dell'azione dell'artista da quella dell'osservazione: il pubblico è agente dell'opera e gravita sul suo stesso piano.
Per questa modalità di lavoro, ho individuato Chiara Mu come l'artista capace di interpretare il parco della collezione rossini come organismo, come elemento da considerare nella sua complessità di opera che comprende opere d'arte e ambiente, e per le storie personali e collettive che lo hanno generato e l'hanno reso ciò che oggi vediamo e percorriamo. L'artista penetra lo spazio fisico – oltre a quello relazionale – sovvertendone la percezione, ne restituisce un approccio di tipo emozionale, capace di fornire visioni altre da sé.
Chiara Mu has a penchant for working with the environment, the situation and people. Her whole production is based on dialoguing relationships: her performative installations, her relational performances and her environmental installations are all originated from a deep sharing of the context, from her quest for knowledge regarding each specific situation she works in. not infrequently, she establishes an intimate relationship with the audience that becomes the centre of the work. the public is a dowel that interacts with her and the environment through devices that can be both performative and installative. Hence her need to eliminate the barrier that separates her area of action from the one of observation: the viewer is "acting" the work from the same level as the artist does.
For her way to conceive art, Chiara Mu seemed the ideal artist to interpret the park as an organism in its whole. this involved considering its complexity made of artworks and environment but also made of all the personal and collective histories that the park is originated from and that contributed to make it what we see and we experience today. the artist permeates the physical space – besides the relational one – subverts its perception and gives back a sensitive reading of it, able to offer other visions of the same.
